2005 Malbec Barrica
Named after the native flower of the same name that is often found growing in Andean mountain meadows in the southern spring, Notro is the first HPS-owned brand from Argentina. It has been extremely well-received in the marketplace, and has quietly taken off as one of the fastest-growing brands in HPS history.
Tasting Notes: Full-bodied, with spicy aromas of plums, violets and light smoke and mineral notes.
Serve With: Enjoy with strong cheeses, grilled meats, or classic
Argentine dishes including empanadas and asado.

Produced from vineyards in Lujan de Cuyo, a top appellation in Mendoza known as the fabled "First Zone" (Primera Zona) of Argentine wine, where the Malbec varietal first achieved greatness.

Yields of 3.6 tons/acre. Harvested by hand.
Vinification
Macerated 20 days on the skins. Alcoholic fermentation lasted 7 days. Aged 6 months in French oak barrels. Unfiltered and unfined.
