Bargemone is among the foremost estates of the Coteaux d’Aix appellation of Provence. A benchmark producer of the delicious, dry rosé for which Provence is famous. Bargemone Rosé is a harmonious blend of Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah with aromas of flowers and red berries and a refreshingly crisp finish.

The Commanderie was founded by Templar knights in the 13th century. Today the winery is home to a proud viticulture tradition and more than 160 acres of organically grown vineyards. The 2022 Made with organic grapes.

Tasting Notes: Offers classic aromas of wild strawberries and red currants, with a light, floral character, and a crisp, bone-dry palate.

Vineyards

163 acres under vine, with 138 acres red varieties (Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Cabernet Sauvignon, Counoise) and 25 acres white varieties (Sauvignon Blanc and Rolle (Vermentino)). Stony, clay/limestone soils.

Viticulture

Made with Organic Grapes. Yields of 4 tons/acre. Vines average 26 years in age, except for the Rolle and Sauvignon Blanc, from new 4 to 7-year-old vineyards. Harvested very early in the morning to preserve freshness of the grapes

Winemaking

The various grape varieties are vinified separately. Direct pressed, with no maceration. Cold settled in stainless steel tanks for 3-5 days prior to fermentation. 10 days fermentation at 59°F. No malolactic conversion. Vinified entirely in stainless steel tanks. Blended in December and bottled in January.
