Description

Domaine Durand is a family estate in the Loire Valley where three generations of winegrowers work together, allying experience, tradition and modernity. Their philosophy is to offer high-quality, authentic wines that are respectful and representative of their appellation. Planted on calcareous sediment, rich in shells and little oysters, the Kimmeridgian limestone terroir gives this old vine Sauvignon Blanc its true identity.

Tasting Notes: Vibrant, pale gold color. Subtle aromas of citrus and white flowers along with delicate mineral notes. The palate is fruity and full-bodied. Remarkably balanced with finesse.

Serve With: Excellent with cheese, especially nutty-flavored aged cheese. Pairs well with poultry, seafood, such as grilled trout, salmon, and shrimp, or with mixed salad with olive oil and chevre.

Accolades

92 pts – “Perfumed and with a touch of spice, this rich wine brings out a tropical side of Sauvignon Blanc. Pepper and a textured edge add essential contrast. The wine is young, so a few more months would be good. Drink from 2022.” -RV, Wine Enthusiast, 11/1/2021 (2020)
92 pts, – VH, WineCurrent.com
90 pts – “Pale gold with silvery green tints. Notes of wild flowers, white-fleshed fruits and citrus on the nose. Mouth-watering acidity, indulgent juiciness and aromatic depth show the palate off at its best in this very freshly-styled Sauvignon,” International Challenge Gold Meda, Gilbert & Gaillard.
